BC Conservation Office investigates boater’s wild ride on moose (Video)

A man who filmed himself jumping from a boat onto a moose’s back will be charged with harassment, said police.

The moose was trying to cross a body of water when the shirtless man jumped from a boat onto the animal’s back.

In the video, the man only rides the moose for a few seconds before falling off, but that was enough to alert conservation authorities.

The video posted by Wolftracker TV has been viewed more than 300,000 times.

David Vince, a conservation sergeant told CTVNews that based on the information they’ve received so far, “it doesn’t look like this video was taken this year.”

He told CTVNews another conservation officer is trying to determine where the video was shot. They are also looking for the man who jumped onto the moose.

“Wildlife harassment is an offence,” Vince told CTV.

In a separate incident in 2013 two men were fined $2,500 for harassing a cow moose in an Ontario lake.
