A 41-year-old Brampton man is facing multiple charges after an alleged assault on a Toronto police officers.
Police allege the man armed with a knife and a hammer swung the hammer at the head of a female officer hitting a glancing blow.
The suspect was quickly arrested and faces a series of charges including attempted murder.
The injured officer, and another officer who assisted with the arrest, received minor injuries and attended hospital for treatment. They have both since been released.
