Girl, 4, found dead after possible dog attack in Quebec

A 4-year-old girl found dead over the weekend outside a home in Puvirnituq, a northern Quebec village on the Hudson Bay coast, may have been the victim of a dog attack.

Quebec provincial police are investigating after the four-year-old’s body was found outside her home in Puvirnituq, which is in the Inuit territory of Nunavik.

“According to early reports, we are dealing with an accidental death that may have been caused by a dog,” McInnis told QMI Agency.

McInnis said that it is not uncommon to see stray dogs wandering in northern communities.

The body of the child will be sent to a forensic lab in Montreal to determine the cause of death.

Puvirnituq is an Inuit village of 1,800 residents that can only be reached by plane.
