Justin Bourque apologized to the families of the three RCMP officers he gunned down last June, describing himself as an “arrogant pissant” who took the easy way out from a life he felt was going nowhere.
Bourque is being sentenced for three counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.
Before his hearing wrapped up Tuesday morning, Justin Bourque apologized to the families of the Mounties.
He then admitted that saying sorry is “almost useless”.
Constables Fabrice Gevaudan, Douglas Larche and Dave Ross were killed during the Moncton shooting spree on June 4th.
Bourque faces a mandatory life sentence, but the judge will have to decide when he will be eligible to apply for parole.
The Crown has argued for a 75-year sentence, but the defence is calling for 50 years.
