Saskatchewan RCMP Constable and citizen struck by SUV near Pense

White Butte RCMP are looking for a vehicle involved in a hit and run on early Sunday morning that stuck a citizen and an RCMP Constable.

Police say there was a large party there and a man was arrested.

It was at that time the red, Jeep SUV was driving towards where the RCMP members had arrested a man.

One RCMP officer was in the ditch off the roadway. A second RCMP officer grabbed the arrested subject and made efforts to get out of the way of the oncoming SUV but were hit by the SUV which also sideswiped an unmarked police vehicle.

Attempts were made to stop the SUV, including the discharge of an RCMP firearm. The SUV is likely to have damage to the driver’s front and driver’s side.

The 42 year old Constable sustained what were described as serious injuries. The arrested male sustained what are described as undetermined injuries but not considered life threatening. A second male White Butte RCMP Constable also sustained what were described as minor injuries as a result of this incident.

Anyone with information can call White Butte RCMP at 306-781-5050, or local RCMP detachment or Police Service.
