Police investigators returned Wednesday with a warrant to the home of the woman charged in the case of six dead infants found in a Winnipeg storage locker, while lawyers clashed in court over autopsies.
Officers were on scene in the first 100 block of Blechner Drive.
Police towed a vehicle away, which had no license plate attached to it.
Police have not confirmed what they were looking for at the home but do say members were at the residence regarding the deceased infants investigation.
Giesbrecht also had a court appearance on Oct. 29.
Greg Brodsky, who represents her, says the autopsies on the remains shouldn’t go ahead without an independent pathologist.
Giesbrecht appeared in court, biting her nails occasionally but showing no emotion.
At Wednesday’s hearing, a lawyer for the chief medical examiner’s office said the autopsies were already “90 per cent” complete. David Gisser told the judge he objected to Brodsky’s “very unusual request.”
Giesbrecht has not entered a plea. A bail hearing is scheduled for Nov. 12.
