Aerosmith announce their impending breakup (Listen)

Aerosmith have confirmed that they are breaking up after 46 years together. They have also announced a farewell tour, which will take place in 2017.

Steven Tyler confirmed on The Howard Stern Show that the band will launch their farewell tour next year and will be done as a group after that. You can hear audio of Tyler’s appearance below.

Tyler said, “We’re doing a farewell tour, but only because it’s time…I love this band, I really do, and I want to squash every thought that anybody might have about this … Look, there’s two bands that still have the original members, us and the Stones. I’m grateful for that.”

When asked to confirm the farewell tour by Stern, Tyler said, “I think so, next year.” He indicated that Joe Perry is aware of the plans as well.
