“I was legit heartbroken,” she said. “I got a call, and I had a lot of missed calls, so I assumed there was a sex tape of me out or something.” She said she was preparing for something like that, but then found out that the real news was much worse. “To hear that news, it broke my heart,” she added. “It was so horrible.”

Amy Schumer also talked about the new gun control initiative her cousin Senator Chuck Schumer proposed on Monday, which would offer initiatives for states who comply with background checks. “The second this happened, you wanna act,” she said of her involvement with the plan. “I wanted to go down [to Louisiana] and just do whatever I could…I was so happy [Senator Schumer] invited me to be a part of it.”

In more lighthearted news, Amy discussed her new friendship with Jennifer Lawrence, which blossomed in the Hamptons on a shared boat ride. Apparently Amy was in the Hamptons because she and her friends had been kicked off Martha’s Vineyard for bad behavior and were thus forced to choose a new fancy beach locale. They ran into J.Law while there, at which point Amy’s non-celebrity friends started freaking out like brainwashed Peeta after he sees Katniss for the first time. “She’s the coolest chick you’ll ever meet,” Amy told Jon.​ No surprise there.
