Ariana Grande and Modern Family actress Ariel Winter fought back against an online body-shaming comment intended to pit them against each other, E! News reports.
After an Instagram user said he preferred “Modern Family” star Ariel Winter’s looks to Grande’s, saying “curves are sexy, sticks aren’t,” the pop singer took a screengrab of the comment and called the person out on Instagram and Twitter.
“Tweets, comments, statements like this are not okay. about anyone!!!” she started, then added, “”We live in a day and age where people make it IMPOSSIBLE for women, men, anyone to embrace themselves exactly how they are.”
Winter, 17, recently underwent breast reduction surgery after complaining about being bullied and sexualized by social media users.
She chimed in on the situation, thanking Grande for the post and saying that women “should empower one another.”
