Can’t get a ticket? Tragically Hip Concert To Be Broadcast Live By CBC

If you weren’t able to get tickets for what’s expected to be the final tour of The Tragically Hip, you can now watch the final show on t.v.

The CBC has announced it will broadcast the August 20th show from the band’s hometown of Kingston.

Tickets for the in-demand Man Machine Poem tour have been hard to come by ever since frontman Gord Downie revealed he has incurable brain cancer.

The Tragically Hip included London in their 15-date Canada-only tour that will also travel through Ottawa, Hamilton, Toronto, Victoria, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary and Winnipeg before wrapping in Kingston.

The Hip play in London on August 8th.

News of the broadcast will be a relief for frustrated fans who couldn’t get tickets. The shows were sold out in minutes when tickets went up for sale.

Downie revealed last month he was diagnosed in December with an aggressive, incurable form of brain cancer — glioblastoma. Downie vowed to join his band mates for a summer tour in support of the new album.

The Kingston show will be broadcast commercial free on CBC August 20th at 8:30 p.m. ET. It will also be streamed online.
