Country star Trace Adkins’ Wife Rhonda Files For Divorce After 16 Years of Marriage

Country music star and his wife have confirmed they are to separate, sparking rumors that Trace’s alcohol habits made the relationship unsustainable.

Trace Adkins is headed for splitsville as word leaks out that his wife of 17 years has officially started divorce proceedings.

Rhonda Adkins, filed for divorce in Williamson County, Tenn. on Tuesday afternoon, citing “irreconcilable differences.” She asked for primary custody of their children, child support, alimony and all her legal fees, WSMV-TV reports.

It’s only March, and it’s already been a very tough year for Trace. After getting into a fight with a passenger on a cruise ship in January, he entered rehab in order to treat his alcoholism.

A few weeks later his father passed away. Things seemed to look like they were getting better when he surprised fans at the Grand Ole Opry earlier this month, but now his marriage is ending.

Trace and Rhonda got married in May 1997 and have 3 children together.
