Jian Ghomeshi, host of CBC’s cultural affairs radio show Q, says he is taking some “much needed personal time” away from the CBC.

The news comes weeks after Ghomeshi announced on social media the death of his father, writing on his Facebook page “My dear friends, forgive me if I am lost. My heart has been broken.”
Ghomeshi has been the host of the popular radio program since 2007 and was a hot topic across North America after a contentious interview with actor Billy Bob Thornton in 2009.
“Q” is broadcast across Canada and the United States.
