Johnny Depp Slurs Speech And Behaves Oddly While Presenting At Show, Johnny Depp prompted some raised eyebrows last night with a slurred and expletive-ridden speech at a televised awards ceremony.

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor was presenting the documentary award to Mike Myers’ “Supermensch: the Legend of Shep Gordon,” when he appeared to be completely perplexed by the microphone, according to The Guardian.

“That’s the weirdest microphone I’ve seen in my life,” he said, laughing, adding “I’m not very good at this kind of thing” — a couple bleeped out swear words followed.

But Depp, determined to finish the presentation, continued with, “No-no. Watch, I’m going to read this thing,” referring to the autocue.

After stumbling his way through the speech and meandering for a bit before blanking out on what he was even talking about, Depp blurted out, “I mean, it’s one of those nights.”

That’s when broadcaster CBS, concluding that the speech was pretty much a bust, finally cut Depp off. But the amusing speech didn’t seem to bother the crowd, which was pictured laughing throughout the whole ordeal.

According to the Daily Beast, Myers, later backstage, called the speech “very rock n’ roll.”

“Other winners at the awards, which do not involve nominations and largely dealt with films not yet released to the public, included Benedict Cumberbatch as best actor for ‘The Imitation Game,’ in which he plays the British second world war codebreaker Alan Turing. Morten Tyldum won for directing the film,” details The Guardian.
