Mariah Carey has sparked reports she is dating billionaire Australian tycoon James Packer after she was spotted dining and holding hands with the businessman during a European vacation.
If James Packer is definitely not returning to ex-wife Erica Baxter, the mother of his three children, it’s high time he found someone as substantial as Mariah Carey.
They have so much in common — he owns casinos, she performs in them.
They’re both in their late forties, with Packer, 47, and Carey, 45.
They have also both been married twice — with Carey splitting from her last husband, Nick Cannon in August last year.
She has young twins with Cannon and of course Packer has three children with Baxter.
The word is that Packer has been pursuing the singer for months, aided by his good mate and Hollywood business partner in RatPac Entertainment, Brett Ratner.
At one time it was even rumoured that Ratner was seeing Carey but he was just obviously sealing the deal for his mate.
Either way, it’s definitely on. Packer has been romancing Carey on his super yacht and the new couple are reportedly set to take in Cannes and St Tropez next, making for a truly electrifying presence on the Cote’ d’Azur this European summer.
The question is: Why did Packer choose to go public and get snapped holding hands with Carey right now? The billionaire knows exactly how to manage his media image.
All that remains is for Carey to write or dedicate a song to Packer for his name to be cemented in showbiz history.
As to what his other love interest, Australian model Miranda Kerr, makes of it all remains to be seen.
Never mind doll, Mariah has just blown you out of the water.
