Miranda Lambert News : Singer could be a big winner at the 2014 CMAs

Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley are early winners at the 48th Annual CMA Awards.

The announcements were made during the Good Morning America show earlier today. The full awards show begins at 8 p.m. eastern tonight from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

Lambert and Urban won CMA Musical Event of the Year for “We Were Us” from Urban’s CMA Awards nominated Album of the Year, “Fuse.” This was Lambert’s eighth CMA award.

Bentley and director Wes Edwards took the video award.

Bentley was the most-nominated male artist in 2014 with 5 nominations including Male Vocalist; Album of the Year for “Riser”; Song of the Year for “I Hold On”; and Single and Music Video of the Year for “Drunk On A Plane.”

The 2014 CMA Awards top nominee, Lambert’s nominations include Entertainer (she received her first nomination in this category in 2010); Female Vocalist; Album for “Platinum”; two nominations for Musical Event for “Somethin’ Bad” with Carrie Underwood and “We Were Us” with Urban; and two nominations for Music Video of the Year for “Automatic” and “Somethin’ Bad” with Underwood. “Automatic” picked up nominations for Single and Song of the Year for songwriters Nicolle Galyon, Natalie Hemby and Lambert.

Urban collected 4 nominations in 2014 including Entertainer of the Year, which he won in 2005; Male Vocalist, which he has won three times (2004-2006); Album for “Fuse,” (Urban only receives one nomination for the category, but can receive a second trophy as producer); and Musical Event with Lambert for “We Were Us.” This is Urban’s third win in the category (“Start a Band” with Paisley in 2009; “Highway Don’t Care” with Taylor Swift and Tim McGraw in 2013), bringing his career CMA Awards wins to nine.
