“Star Trek” actress Nichelle Nichols was hospitalized this week after suffering a mild stroke.
Nichelle Nichols’ representative has confirmed to Entertainment Tonight in a statement that the 82-year-old is under close observation by medical staff to determine the severity of the stroke: “We do not have a prognosis yet but everyone’s prayers and well wishes are appreciated.”
TMZ reports that Nichelle Nichols was driven from her home by ambulance last night to a Los Angeles hospital. Nichols is known for her long-standing experience as an actress on both the “Star Trek” television show and six movies. She played communications officer Lieutenant Nyota Uhura, aboard the fictional USS Enterprise.
