Another Royal Wedding Is Coming – Sofia Hellqvist will be known as HRH Princess Sofia, Duchess of Värmland upon her marriage to Prince Carl Philip of Sweden next month. An official announcement made by the Swedish royal family on Sunday confirmed that when she ties the knot with Carl Philip on 13 June, 30-year-old Sofia will officially become a princess of Sweden.

On Sunday, May 17, the Duke of Värmland, 36 — who is the only son of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden and third in line to the Swedish throne — and Sofia, 30, participated in a traditional reading of the banns of marriage at Stockholm’s Royal Chapel.
This ceremony serves as the couple’s official announcement that they intend to marry on a later date. They previously publicized their upcoming wedding date last October after announcing their engagement in June 2014.
Sofia’s new royal title was also revealed during the reading of the banns of marriage. Following their wedding, the former reality TV star will be known as Her Royal Highness Princess Sofia.
Carl Philip’s elder sister, Crown Princess Victoria, will ascend to the Swedish throne when her father either abdicates or passes away. The second in line to the throne is Victoria’s three-year-old daughter, Princess Estelle. The prince also has a younger sister, Princess Madeleine, who is a mom to a 15-month-old daughter, Princess Leonore, and is currently expecting her second child.

I don’t have any respect for any royal family anymore. It seems anything goes and there is no way I would have agreed to this particular marriage if I was the King. Talk about scratching the bottom of the barrel
