Sally Forrest, singer and star of the ’40s films Not Wanted and Never Fear, died earlier this month at 86.
Forrest started studying dance at a young age and was signed to an MGM contract right after graduating from high school.
She appeared in several films as an uncredited dancer before landing a part in the film NOT WANTED in 1949. Forrest went on to star in NEVER FEAR that same year, followed by 1951’s HARD, FAST AND BEAUTIFUL.
Among her other film credits are WHILE THE CITY SLEEPS, SON OF SINBAD, CODE TWO, THE STRANGE DOOR, BANNERLINE, THE STRIP and EXCUSE MY DUST.
She moved to New York in 1952 and replaced Vanessa Brown in the original Broadway production of THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH.
