Scott Weiland: ‘Singer of Stone Temple Pilots’ found dead at 48 on tour bus

Scott Weiland was found dead on his tour bus in Minnesota on Thursday, and now stars are reacting to the singer’s death.

The musician was on tour with his band Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts where he was due to play at the Medina Ballroom in Minnesota.

A statement shared on his Instagram page announced the sudden death of the musician.

It read: “Scott Weiland, best known as the lead singer for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, passed away in his sleep while on a tour stop in Bloomington, Minnesota, with his band The Wildabouts.”

“At this time we ask that the privacy of Scott’s family be respected.”

The cause of Scott’s death is unknown, but the singer has battled substance abuse throughout his life.

He leaves behind two children, Noah, 15 and Lucy, 13 as well as his wife, Lucy Wachtel.

Tributes for the musician have been pouring in since the announcement of his death.

Motley Crue’s Nikki Six tweeted: “Sad to hear about Scott’s passing. I hope it wasn’t drugs. The saddest part of the story is his kids and family being left behind. RIP.”

Guitarist Dave Nacarro has lead tributes to the singer saying: “Just learned our friend Scott Weiland has died. So gutted, I am thinking of his family tonight.”
