Tommy Black Arrested, Drugs Reportedly On Tour Bus

Tommy Black has been arrested for cocaine possession following the death of lead singer Scott Weiland early Friday morning.

According to TMZ, police found a small quantity of cocaine on the bus Black, who plays bass in Weiland’s current band the Wildabouts, was riding. They also found coke in the room where Weiland, 48, was found.

Black has been arrested and booked for fifth degree felony possession of drugs by the Bloomington Police Department in Minnesota, where Weiland and his band made a tour stop yesterday. Police are currently investigation Weiland’s death.

TMZ also reports that friends claimed that Weiland, who declared himself drug-free earlier this year, was struggling with drugs again, something that has plagued him throughout most of his career, dating back to his days with Stone Temple Pilots in the mid-’90s.

Weiland’s body was discovered after 8PM yesterday and, according to his Facebook page, died in his sleep. His former bandmates in both Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, the group he joined after his split with STP, have written tributes.

“The memories are many, and they run deep for us. We know amidst the good and the bad you struggled, time and time again,” wrote STP on their Facebook page. “It’s what made you who you were. You were gifted beyond words.”
