‘Anti-vaxxers’ spread among all Canadian demographics : poll

Skepticism about the health effects of vaccines on children is evenly distributed among Canadians of all demographics, with no significant patterns of gender, age, income or education, according to an unusual survey that tried to cast a sociological eye on “anti-vaxxers.”

Mainstreet Technologies surveyed 1,013 Canadian parents who identify as ‘anti-vaxxers.’

“We found in earlier research a surprising amount of mistrust in vaccines”, said Quito Maggi, President of Mainstreet Technologies. “We wanted to see specifically why parents with children have made the decision to not vaccinate.”

“We found that the major reason, by far, parents are choosing not to vaccinate their children is health concerns. Education and income really aren’t a factor when you take a close look at the make-up of Anti-Vaxxers. Despite the fact that measles has regularly been in the news over the past two months, 80% of respondents still say they are not at all likely to vaccinate their children. This is a continuing problem for those who cannot be vaccinated and depend on herd immunity for coverage” concluded Maggi.

Anti Vaxxers;

– 39% come from households with over $100,000 in income

– 38% hold a University degree & 66% have completed post-secondary education

– 65% cite Health Reasons for not vaccinating, 19% religious reasons

    1. Used to be you could fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time. This should change to you can fool most of the people most of the time, when it come s to vaccines. If there was even one study that showed they work (which there is not) they would wave it in front of the face of all those against polluting their body with toxins known as vaccines. Until the medical community is shamed for trying to population control their own people, you will have this propaganda regarding vaccines. Once the truth comes out it will be the end of medicine as we know it. The brotherhood of death known as doctors will be finished.

    2. Please take the capital letters off “anti-vaxxers”. Ask those of us who regard vaccine as an unnecessary crutch for healthy humans if they feel themselves to be members of a group, sect, cult, or arcane religion. I certainly don’t get voice mail from “god” about vaccination. But I am smart enough to have noticed that the wealthy medical profession still hasn’t figured out a way to insist that all newborns be fitted for preventive eyeglasses, preventative crutches, preventative orthotics, preventative wheelchairs, preventative botox…you get my drift. If there were a way however to get away with these prevention schemes, some entrepreneurial medical wacko would have been making millions at it a long time ago. On the other hand, because you can shoot up a baby with vaccine and it will not make a ripple in our well-trained collective sense of “what is normal,” we have governments stuck in an oversized love/hate relationship with hospitals and consequently seeing vaccines as the great white hope to cut back on medicare cost over-runs. It costs society a lot to have the medical fears and beliefs we have. Just listen to the white-coat screamers who can’t abide the idea that there is room for good natural immune systems not dependent on manufactured injections of laboratory solutions. I am not an Anti-Vaxxer. I am an unvaccinated person with a healthy immune system and just not enough fear to suit the media, the medical profession or the current government. But I am okay with that; I have my health and my happiness. Thanks for listening, and please take the caps off your labels for people who simply are healthy.

    3. I believe it is your right to choose- and if you choose not to vaccinate you should buy lots of insurance, because if you infect my child I will choose to litigate to the full extent of the law.
      We all have rights—- we all have responsibilities.
