Internally decapitated toddler undergoes ‘miracle’ surgery (Video)

Sixteen-month-old Jaxon Taylor is laughing, walking and playing again after just a few weeks after being internally decapitated.

The toddler was with his mum and nine-year-old sister Shayne when they collided head on with another vehicle at 110km/hr on September 15.

Jaxon was airlifted from the site of the car crash to a hospital in Brisbane, Australia where he was treated.

The force of the head on collision was so intense that Jaxon’s head was pulled apart from his neck in an internal decapitation, according to Spinal surgeon Dr. Geoff Askin.

In a six hour long surgery Dr. Askin and his highly trained medical team attached a halo looking device to Jaxon’s skull, holding him completely still while they reattached his vertebrae using a tiny piece of wire.

They then took out a piece of his rib to graft the two vertebrae together.

Father to Jaxon, Andrew Taylor told 7 News Melbourne: “They have taken two broken kids and put them back together. We’re very, very thankful.”

Thankfully, Jaxon is expected to make a full recovery!
