Mom hears son’s heartbeat after his death ‘Video’

A mom who donated her 7-month-old son’s organs after he passed away hears his heart beat for the first time in nearly three years.

Heather Clark lost her son, Lukas Clark, in 2013 — just seven months after he was born.

Through organ donation, the baby boy saved three lives.

One of the children that received a donation was Jordan Drake. Drake, who was 18 months old when she received Lukas Clark’s heart, is thriving today because of the donation.

In November, Heather Clark made contact with Drake’s family. She wrote about it on Facebook and posted a picture of Drake:

“I would like to share something with all the amazing Lukas supporters. Today I have been in contact with a beautiful family. This beauty (Jordan) is the girl who has Lukas heart beating in her. One day I will meet her and squeeze her so tightly! Thank you to her mom and dad who allow me to be a part of their lives. This is the best Christmas present I could have asked for.”

As the meeting approached, Heather posted on social media again:

“One week from today I will be listening to Lukas’ heartbeat once again. I will be holding Jordan in my arms showering her with love and kisses!”

On Friday, Heather met Drake and her mother, Esther Gonzalez, for the first time. She was able to hear her son’s heart beating in Drake’s chest.

A photo of the interaction shows Heather crying as she holds a stethoscope to Drake’s chest. Gonzalez, can also be seen tearing up.

“I’m not going to say anything. I’m just going to hug her,” Gonzalez told KTLA prior to the meeting. “I think I have run out of words at this point.”

Although Heather had been sending Drake gifts for months, the 4-year-old girl gave her a special gift when they met — a Build-A-Bear with a recording of Lukas’ heartbeat inside.
