UFO hunters have been closely studying NASA images taken by the Mars rover Curiosity with the aim of spotting potential fossils. The most recent find by the ufologists is an image revealing what appears to look like the remains of a grizzly bear.
A close-up of the image shown in a video published online sparked a discussion on whether the object could be an ancient animal fossil or a statue of a creature familiar on the planet.
Alien-hunter expert Scott C. Waring called the find “unusual and interesting”.
He said: “It resembles a fossilised animal or a statue, but it’s difficult to tell without being able to examine it close-up.
“The dark patch is the curly hair coat and its face area has significantly less hair.
“Its two front teeth are extremely white, unlike any other colour on the creature.
“I have to say it’s a fossil because of its hair and teeth.”
But YouTube user Paranormal Crucible said there was the possibility the unusually shaped “rock” is some kind of statue.
They wrote: “Even without processing the image you can clearly see tat it looks artificial.
“It resembles a bear or sloth-like creature to me, possibly with a shell.”
But bizarre finds on the surface of Mars are nothing new.
