Banks in the initial phase will include BMO Bank of Montreal, CIBC, Banque Nationale, Scotiabank, Desjardins, President’s Choice Financial, ATB Financial, and Canadian Tire Financial Services in Canada, and prepaid Scotiabank and Desjardins cards. Support for Interac-branded debit cards will begin roll-out on Monday 5 June, and support for American Express cards and Tangerine will come later this summer. Users will be able to add multiple eligible cards and select which card they want to use before they pay.

Shops accepting Android Pay will include Tim Hortons, Loblaws, Petro-Canada, McDonald’s, Indigo, Pizza Pizza, Sears Canada and Telus, Rogers, and Freedom Mobile retail stores. The system will also be available for use in apps such as Lululemon, Uber, Ritual or HotelTonight.
