Around Christmas, Lance Perkins discovered more than $8,000 of charges to his credit card that were built up by his son through microtransactions. Now, Microsoft has refunded the father’s bill.
At the time, Microsoft issued a statement to the disgruntled parent, saying that the Xbox One features more than enough parental services to keep situations like this from occurring and that the charges were “legitimate transactions.”
Well, a “very pleased” Mr. Perkins is happy to report to Ottawa’s CBC News that Xbox has given him a full refund for the charges. Mr.Perkins should consider himself lucky, in March of 2015, another father found himself in a similar situation – his son charged $4,500 on his credit card through FIFA’s in-game purchases, however Xbox did not give that man a refund.
Moral of the story: Use parental controls – especially if you’re buying FIFA games.

Shouldn’t have gotten a refund. Kid was retarded enough to make those purchases. Lesson not learned.
Anybody who buys a Microsoft product is paying this bill. Cannot believe that a company would reimburse someone when it was clearly stupidity on the part of both the teen and his parent that caused the issue.
