Ataui Deng : Missing Model Found Safe

The New York City Police Department has found a fashion model who had disappeared after a night at a Midtown bar more than 10 days ago.

Ataui-Deng Hopkins was last seen by her boyfriend, Grant Monohon, close to midnight on August 6 when he walked her outside “The Attic Club” on West 48th Street. Monohon, however, only reported Hopkins’ disappearance to the police on Saturday.

Monday, a worker at an undisclosed hospital in New York called to inform the police that the 22-year old model was being treated at the hospital. It was not clear what Hopkins was being treated for, or how she got there.

Based on Monohon’s statement to the New York police on Saturday, he walked Hopkins out of the club on August 6 and gave her his car keys as he still had to work.

He said she did not want the keys and just stood there. Monohon, meanwhile, had to go back inside the club.

Monohon added that Hopkins, who lives in East Village, had a habit of disappearing for more than a day but that her August 6 disappearance got him worried.

Before the police could launch a search operation, Rihanna tweeted a call for help in finding Hopkins, attaching to her tweet a photo of herself with the model.

The Sudanese model moved to the U.S. in 2004 where she has since carved out a successful modeling career with such industry big names as L’Wren Scott and Christian Siriano. In 2008, Hopkins signed up with Trump Model Management.
