Bea Rose Santiago of the Philippines successfully captured the much-coveted title as Miss International 2013 winner during the coronation night held in Tokyo, Japan.
The Philippines completed a beauty pageant grand slam after the country dominated the Miss Supranational through Mutya Johanna Datul and Miss World 2013 winner Megan Young.
First runner-up was Miss Netherlands Nathalie den Dekker followed by the second runner-up title given to Miss New Zealand , Casey Radley, both stunning beauties as well. Completing the slots for the top five are Miss Hungary Brigitta Otvos and Miss Colombia represented by Lorena Hermida who fell down the stairs on stage.
It was stated that the beauty pageant contestants were expected to serve as the “ambassadors of peace and beauty”. They should be able to express benevolence, beauty, tenderness, intelligence, friendliness and the skill to act on sensible things.
