Homeowner tricks package thief into stealing box of dog poop “Video”

A Las Vegas homeowner fed up with package thieves tricked a person into stealing a very special delivery — a box filled with dog poop.

Eric Burdo told KTNV he was fed up with reports of packages in his community being stolen from people’s porches and decided to do something about it. So he filled a plain looking mail package with some of his dog’s poop and left it on his porch. A camera he installed above captured the rest.

“I was kind of excited and I just kept replaying it,” he told KNTV. “I just kind of wanted to give them back something.” Burdo, who was surprised to find out the thief appeared to be a young teen, said he just hopes they learn a lesson from this stinky experience.

This isn’t the first time someone has had the idea of using surprise poop to foil a thief and it probably won’t be the last. In poop box related news, a woman in Houston who had her holiday packages stolen from her porch came up with a similarly stinky way to teach would-be thieves a lesson. She left a special box on her porch, too.

“It’s full of my baby’s dirty diapers and has a note that says Merry Christmas. Enjoy it,” she told ABC 13.
