New Photos Show Osama Bin Laden in 1990s Hideout.
Previously unseen pictures of Osama bin Laden hiding out in Afghanistan have been published for the first time.
The new images of bin Laden in the Tora Bora region of Afghanistan were taken by photojournalist Abdel Bari Atwan in 1996.

Atwan was invited to bin Laden’s hideout to meet and interview him.
Atwan said when he met bin Laden, he seemed “very modest,” and “genuine in what he believed.”
The photos show bin Laden taking walks in the mountains, spending time in his hideout surrounded by guns and books and making video recordings.
The stills were originally part of the evidence against an Al-qaeda lieutenant who was convicted last month of conspiring with Al-qaeda in the 1990’s.
