Ohio Man missing since 2005 found in car in lake, Authorities Say

A man from Ohio who vanished nine years ago and has been missing ever since was found dead this week in a car pulled out of a Delaware County pond.

Delaware County sheriff’s spokeswoman Tracy Whited says the coroner’s office in neighboring Franklin County confirmed it was Anthony “Tony” Luzio Jr.

The 25-year-old man disappeared July 4, 2005, after leaving a holiday party. The car he’d driven was pulled from a pond Tuesday.

The pond was searched after officers identified 300 bodies of water that were big enough for a car to go into and within a 3-mile radius of where Luzio was last seen.

Luzio’s father tells The Columbus Dispatch the discovery is bittersweet. He says the family always had a bit of hope of finding Luzio but now can put him to rest.
