Seattle Pacific University under lockdown for bomb threat “Report”

Seattle Pacific University was on lockdown Saturday night after receiving a bomb threat.

The alert was issued just before 7:15 p.m. PT on Saturday due to a bomb threat involving one of the campus buildings. Students in some areas were asked to leave, while others have been told to shelter-in-place until further notice.

“SPU received a bomb threat and we are taking the precaution of evacuating buildings that we believe need to be evacuated. Details to follow,” the university said in a brief message at 7:40 p.m.

Seattle Pacific University is a private Christian university in Seattle. SPU’s 43-acre city campus is located in a residential neighborhood on the north slope of Queen Anne Hill, only 10 minutes from the heart of downtown Seattle. More than 4,100 students attend the university.

Seattle Pacific University was the scene of a deadly shooting in June of 2014.  One person was killed and three others injured.  Students were able to disarm the shooter before police arrived.
