Swedish School Attack: Masked man kills one, wounds three (Video)

A teacher has been killed and two students wounded in a sword attack at a school in western Sweden, police say.

Police earlier said an adult and four children were injured after masked man wielding a sword launched an attack in a Swedish school.

Officers responded to an emergency call at around 10am saying a masked man wielding a sword was on the premises and that a person had been attacked at or near the school cafeteria, police confirmed.

The casualties were previously thought to be one adult and four students.

Police spokesman Thomas Fuxborg said the masked man was in his 20s and carried more than one weapon, including ‘at least one knife-like object.’

Fuxborg said police fired two shots, one of which hit the attacker.

Health authorities in Trollhattan said one teacher died after being wounded in the attack and two students, aged 11 and 15, were seriously wounded with cuts.

The incident occurred at the Kronan school in Trollhattan, an industrial town of around 50,000 inhabitants north of Gothenburg.

The school has around 400 students, aged between six and 15-years-old.
