Erin Corwin : Marine’s pregnant wife missing

The car driven by a pregnant Twentynine Palms woman who disappeared after leaving her home on Saturday has been found, but the woman’s whereabouts were still unknown, authorities said Wednesday.

Erin Corwin, 19, was last seen leaving her home at about 7 a.m. on Saturday as she headed to Joshua Tree National Park, a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department news release stated.

“I mean my gut was just tore up, just tore up,” Corwin’s mother Lore Heavilin, who lives near Knoxville and was planning to visit her daughter later this month, said. “You feel like you’re walking in a nightmare.”

Authorities found Corwin’s cell phone at an undisclosed location in Twentynine Palms, News 3 reported.

Investigators have not ruled out foul play in her disappearance. More than two dozen volunteers are helping search for Corwin in some remote areas.

Corwin is five feet, two inches tall and weighs around 120 pounds. She has brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information on Corwin’s whereabouts is urged to contact investigators at 909-387-3589 or by calling 1-800-78-CRIME. A Facebook page also been set up.
