RCMP : Pilot and passenger walk away from Grande Prairie plane crash

A pilot and passenger walked away from a plane crash at a Grande Prairie baseball diamond Wednesday night.

At around 7, Grande Prairie RCMP were called to a downed aircraft in the south of the city, in a field north of some ball diamonds. Police say it looks like the single engine light aircraft ran out of fuel and had to make an emergency landing.

It suffered extensive damage, but the people inside, two Americans on their way from Montana to Alaska, were not hurt
