The mother of a nine-year-old American girl who accidentally killed her gun instructor while learning to fire an Uzi told sheriff’s deputies that the weapon was “too much for her” daughter and that it hurt the girl’s shoulder, a report released on Wednesday by the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said.
Her family members say they were too focused on the girl to immediately notice the instructor had been shot when the gun recoiled.
The girls parents were filming when the gun fired, fatally striking instructor Charles Vacca in the head.
The tragic accident occurred at the Last Stop outdoor shooting range located in White Hills, Arizona.
Prosecutors will not file charges in the case.
The family of the instructor say they do not blame the little girl.
