Halifax woman accused of impaired driving in school zone : RCMP

The RCMP have charged a Halifax woman with impaired driving after she was stopped speeding through a Chester school zone.

Lunenburg RCMP pulled the woman over around 2 p.m. They say she had been speeding by the elementary school and middle school just as students were being dismissed for the day.

Once pulled over, the officer suspected the woman had been drinking and arrested her for impaired driving.

Police say she was found to be two and a half times the legal limit after taking a breathalyzer.

The 58-year-old Halifax woman is due to appear in Bridgewater provincial court on Nov. 12 to face charges of impaired driving and driving over the legal limit.
