The jackpots for all of the major lotteries continued their steady climb upward over the weekend.
No one matched all six numbers in Saturday’s Powerball draw so the jackpot in next Wednesday’s drawing is an estimated $225 million.
The numbers drawn Saturday night were 22, 23, 30, 37, 39 and the Powerball number was 16. The jackpot was an estimated $196 million.
There were two tickets sold with five numbers, but missing the Powerball number — one in Georgia and one New York and is each worth $1 million.
Powerball is played in 43 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Jackpots for the $2 game start at $40 million and rolls over every time there is no winner. The record jackpot reached $590 million in May 2013.
