Two people are facing drug charges after police seized about 120 pounds of marijuana, that was being transported to Alberta from B.C., from two vehicles in a northwest parking lot.
On Thursday, Sept. 25, CPS officers conducted a traffic stop on two vehicles.
A man and woman were then taken into custody and approximately 120 pounds of pot was seized from the two vehicles. The marijuana was packed in dozens of heat-sealed packages and then stashed in black garbage bags.
Police estimate the value of the drugs in the Calgary pot bust to be $535,500.
Sandra Pearl Dalpe, 61, of Chestermere has been charged with trafficking cannabis marijuana and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Douglas Paul Hryniw, a 51-year old Calgary man, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The charges against the accused have not been proven in a court of law.
