OAK LAWN, Ill. (WLS) — Three people were killed and 11 were hospitalized, two in critical condition, in a crash early Sunday evening in Oak Lawn that involved 11 vehicles, officials said.
Officials said one of the victims who was killed was the driver of a pickup truck who’d been driving erratically. He veered into traffic stopped at a red light, flipped into the air and struck more vehicles.
The other two people killed were stopped at a red light.
The identities of the victims have not been released.
Two of the 11 people injured have been hospitalized in critical condition.
A third victim went to the hospital in non-critical condition, and eight people were treated at the scene.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
