SaskPower is taking to the skies to improve service and repair times.
The Crown corporation has begun using an aerial drone with a camera as part of its operations.
George Pyne with SaskPower says the drone has proven beneficial to the province, especially during the winter.
“So far it’s made our jobs more efficiently . It helps us with some of our questions we used to have regarding reliability and the status of our switching stations. It’s what it was purchased for initially.”
Pyne says the camera also has infrared capabilities which are especially beneficial during the winter or if an area is surrounded by water.
