Elisabeth Hasselbeck is taking a leave of absence from Fox & Friends after undergoing surgery.
On Wednesday, co-hosts Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade said that Kimberly Guilfoyle, from the network’s “The Five” show, will stand in for Hasselbeck while she recuperates.
They did not disclose the reason for the surgery.
“In case you were wondering where Elisabeth is today, well, she had some surgery yesterday and she’s gonna be out for a couple weeks,” Doocy said. “But she’s doing just fine. She’s on the mend.”
Hasselbeck, married to former NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck, has been on the show for one year after leaving “The View.”
“As you know if you watch the show, she is strong, she is tough, and a better athlete than me,” Kilmeade joked. “We heard from her last night and she said she is feeling good so in a short time she’ll be back on the set.”
A Fox News spokesperson disclosed no more details to TheWrap, saying only, “Elisabeth has asked for all to respect her wishes for privacy in regards to further details at this time.”
