Law enforcement officials say four Rhode Island boys ranging from 9 to 14 years old robbed and beat a man in Providence.
Hector Boj, 44, told police he was walking home from a convenience store in the area of Putnam and Amherst Streets when four young males approached him asking for money.
Boj stated that the boys, ranging in age from 9 to 14, hit him with a large piece of wood and rocks as he was retrieving money from his pockets. He suffered an injury to the side of his face.
Police were able to locate the four on Julian Street before apprehending them. Officers reported that the suspects yelled profanities at them and were exhibiting aggressive behavior.
The boys were turned over to Juvenile Detectives and held at the Rhode Island Training School. They each face first degree robbery charges.
