Kate Bosworth said yes to the dress. An Oscar de la Renta dress to be exact.
In the latest Vogue Wedding series, the actress—who married Michael Polish in Montana over the weekend—takes us through the creation of her dream dress which, if you’re inclined to get emotional, will bring a tear to your eye. Kate said about her dress: ‘We needed to create a dress that would be fluid in that landscape. Because I love minimalism and I love a clean line so much I knew that I didn’t want really any embellishments so when I spoke to Oscar he loved the idea of having the drama in the back.’
In the Vogue video a teary Kate Bosworth says: ‘Seeing the dress I was totally shocked at my complete lack of control of my emotions in that moment. It’s a dress that reflects the love I have for my partner, it’s a reflection on my life, it’s a reflection on the woman I’ve become. There’s so much poetry and elegance to it.’
The Bos pinned her hair back in a bun and wore an embellished headband, a cathedral length veil and simple diamond studs in her ears. She didn’t have cowboy boots under her tulle, but wore Jimmy Choo Lotus slingback sandals with sparkly straps. Good work walking in ivory stilettos in a field. As for the groom, Michael wore a three-piece charcoal suit by Brooks Brothers.
These two are the most loved-up kids in Hollywood (we know as we were next to them getting cosy at London Fashion Week), so as expected their ceremony was infectious. They exchanged self-penned vows and Michael’s 15 year old daughter Jasper was also part of the ceremony. Kate said: ‘From the moment I met Michael I knew he was the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I have found my match in this life. Every detail in the wedding is a reflection of our union.’
Martha Stewart Weddings also shared pictures of their preparations, including cactus centrepieces and gift bags. They even had their own monogram made, which was designed by Mr Polish. Guests were given logo bags with a bottle of huckleberry soda and a handwritten message from the couple inside. Kate might drop the Bosworth, as the dinner menu was calligraphed with ‘Kate Polish’ at the bride’s request.
