The Coast Guard has rescued a hunter injured in a bear attack in Alaska.
As many as three bears attacked two men near Kodiak while they were carrying a deer they shot.
The Coast Guard 17th District received a call from a fishing boat that reported that a group of hunters had been attacked by a group of bears and one hunter needed immediate medical attention.
The master of the fishing vessel reported that he had transported the hunters to Sally Island and was waiting nearby for them to return when the attack took place. Five bears had come upon the hunters while they were carrying a deer they shot. No other hunters were injured.
