Stephen Collins divorce trial set to begin, The ugly divorce trial between accused child molester and 7th Heaven actor Stephen Collins and his estranged wife, Faye Grant, begins on Wednesday – and unsurprisingly, things are already getting uglier.
The trial has been scheduled to start today, reports The Associated Press. The main goal of the trial will be to decide how to split their assets.
Collins’ attorney has cited damages to the actor’s career, adding that he shouldn’t have to pay spousal support. Grant disagrees, and is seeking $13,000 a month in support.
Collins and Grant married in 1985. The former 7th Heaven star filed for divorce two years ago.
Back in October, TMZ posted a tape of a 2012 therapy session, in which Collins said he had sexually molested young girls.
The Star Trek: The Motion Picture actor, who also wrote erotic novels in the ‘90s, lost several acting jobs after the tape came out, including his Scandal role.
TMZ reported late last month that Collins’ lawyer filed paperwork claiming that he’s not getting any jobs because of the leaked tape, so his only income comes from investments and pension.
