Rosario Dawson Adopts A 12-Year-Old Daughter, The 35-year-old star, who was adopted by her stepfather Greg Dawson when she was one-year-old, has been open about her adoption plan for years and now she has gone a step ahead despite being single, reported a leading US newspaper.
E! News says an unnamed source has confirmed the happy news to them, though no further details on the newest Dawson family member are yet available. Nonetheless, fans of the 35-year-old star likely feel word of the adoption has been a long time coming.
“I always wanted to adopt kids ’cause my Dad adopted me,” the Rent beauty told Latina magazine back 2008.
“That idea has stayed in the back of my head, but lately, I’ve been thinking about it more. My mother and grandmother are extraordinary women, and they’re getting older. It struck me recently that one day I might be sitting around with my children, going ‘Your grandma was an amazing woman; I really wish you could’ve known her.’ That makes me sad ’cause it would be a waste to not have these people know each other. Whatever time I have, I want it.”
It appears Rosario Dawson chose to adopt on her own, after splitting from boyfriend Danny Boyle.
I do hope we’ll someday get to hear about Rosario’s new daughter, including what inspired her to adopt an older child. So wonderful!
