Police say a suspect is in custody after a double-carjacking involved a baby in Surrey.
[fwdevp preset_id=”8″ video_path=”aHUspV_HRg8″]It’s believed to be the same man who stole two vehicles from the area of 186th St and Fraser Highway, including a Ford Escape with a baby in the back seat earlier on Tuesday.
That man is also believed to have crashed the stolen truck into a number of cars about four blocks away.
Corporal Bert Pacquet with Surrey RCMP says officers originally responded to reports of a man with a gun before learning about the baby. ”The best Christmas present I believe our officers were able to offer today was to give that child back to the mother unharmed, they have been reunited. This was our priority.”
He adds they are still trying to determine many of the details.
