Benedict Cumberbatch is going to be a daddy! The 38-year-old The Imitation Game actor, who announced his engagement via a newspaper notice back in November, is supposedly “delighted” to become a dad.
[fwdevp preset_id=”8″ video_path=”eJA9NPNMXOk”]According to Page Six, which broke the pregnancy news, Cumberbatch, 38, and Hunter, 36, are now said to be planning to tie the knot sooner than they had originally planned.
“Sophie is a few months along, and both she and Benedict are very excited about it,” a source told the publication.
“They are also quietly planning to marry in early spring.”
Cumberbatch previously revealed that his mother was keen for him to start a family.
Following the engagement news, People.com told him that his fans were waiting for news of a “Cumber-baby”.
Cumberbatch replied: “Oh my God. Well, my mother is also waiting for Cumber-babies.”
Cumberbatch has a busy few months coming up, as it’s award season and he’s hotly tipped for success with his film The Imitation Game.
And asked about his wedding plans, Cumberbatch admitted the nuptials will still be at the forefront of his mind even during this hectic period.
“My main focus is going to be on that, and then [awards season] is just sort of a wonderful burst of manic crazy fresh air in the midst of it all,” he told Hello magazine.com.
Cumberbatch’s first stop for awards season will be at the Golden Globe awards this weekend, where he is nominated for the best actor gong.
Hunter, who has been hiding her blooming figure in billowing maxi dresses, is also expected to accompany her husband-to-be on the red carpet.
