Police say they have a suspect in custody in the deadly shooting at a New Year’s Eve party in Calgary.
Seven people were injured that morning when shots rang out at the home on 36th Street SW, where more than 50 people were ringing in the new year.
26-year-old Abdullahi Ahmed died of his injuries in hospital later that day.
Investigators now say a suspect was taken into custody in southwest Calgary Thursday afternoon.
Few details are known about the suspect to this point, other than he was an invited guest to the party.
